One blogger’s personal bridge to nowhere

Some condolence for liberals

Okay, so Rod Blagojevish getting arrested is very much not a good thing for Democrats, but we can maybe take some tiny amount of solace (a quantum thereof, perhaps?) — or at least some vindictive bemusement — at the fact that the millions of dollars pumped into creating Freedom’s Watch, the conservative organization that was supposed to challenge MoveOn and the netroots, all went down the drain.

Multiple sources said the board of directors, which includes former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer and former Ambassador to Italy Mel Sembler, has decided to close down rather than just scale down post-election.

“There are no ifs or buts,” said a Republican operative close to the situation. “The board has made the decision to shut the doors.”

I’ll take corruption over incompetence any day.

  1. Just cause corruption is illegal don’t make it unpopular.
