The news makes great TV

Watching a great action flick MSNBC — that venerable bastion of independent media — this morning, I saw the following series of scenes stories unfold:

• A dangerous police chase, culminating in a (thrice-repeated, for maximum dramatic effect) crash.

• A man who, while having sex, shot his wife in the chest by accident…or was it?…

• The salacious tale of a “panty thief,” complete with images of the hot (double entendre intended) lingerie.

As they say, the place for politics.
