The Republican Party is understandably touting their only one of their only victories this election season:

Our Party won a great victory yesterday in the runoff U.S. Senate race in Georgia thanks to your generous support. We couldn’t have done it without you on our team. Saxby Chambliss’ re-election sends a strong message to Washington, D.C., that unchecked power will not be accepted.

I agree with Michelle Cottle here; the only message that Saxby Chambliss’ re-election sends is that Georgia voters are — shockingly — actually rather conservative.
