One blogger’s personal bridge to nowhere

A diverse white male Cabinet

Passport’s Elizabeth Dickinson runs down a list of possible Obama appointees for various high-profile positions.  The names are generally those that I’ve heard bandied about elsewhere too: Rahm Emanuel, Tom Daschle, Larry Summers, Warren Buffett, Timothy Geithner, Austan Goolsbee, Jason Furman, Michael Froman, Robert Gates, Richard Danzig, Chuck Hagel, Jim Steinberg, Gregory Craig, Anthony Zinni, Bill Richardson, John Kerry, Richard Lugar, Susan Rice, and Al Gore.

I have heard that the Obama campaign intends to emphasize three things in its appointments: diversity, youth, and bipartisanship.  There are some relative young’uns in the list above, as well as the token three Republicans, but of 19 names, I can identify just one woman, one Hispanic, and one African-American.  Surely we can at least include some diversity in our gossip?
